If what is about to be executed is a VBScript executable (the most common executable used by vandals who write viruses of late), eTrust Content Inspection Personal edition will automatically block the attempt to launch this executable from the email client environment.

How does eTrust Content Inspection Personal Edition work with .exe's?
eTrust Content Inspection PE closely monitors your system and detects when something is about to be executed from an email client environment.

If what is about to be executed is an executable, (exe or derivative form) eTrust Content Inspection will allow the executable to launch, and then closely monitor it. If this executable, launched from an email client environment, attempts ANY access to the filesystem, that access will be blocked.

What if the attachment is something that I DO trust and I DO need to execute it?
Simply save the attachment and execute it from a command line prompt or from the explorer. eTrust Content Inspection Personal Edition will not monitor those executions ù it will only monitor execution attempts launched from an email client environment.

Does eTrust Content Inspection PE work with Outlook?
Yes. In addition, eTrust Content Inspection PE will work with any mail client on your computer. This includes Outlook, Outlook Express, Exchange Mail Client, Eudora, Netscape, and other popular email programs.
